Days after ODM boss Raila Odinga came out to deny ever having a night meeting with embattled governor Ann Waiguru, sources now term Raila’s denial of such a meeting as a bluff just to save face,

Further, the well-placed sources in government circles confirm that indeed the meeting did take place and are also privy to deep negotiations and bargaining that ended with the ODM boss pledging to marshal his forces in the Senate the save the governor.

More interesting is the revelation that operatives allied to Waiguru convinced the ODM supremo to align his senators to save the troubled Kirinyaga governor.

But how true could these revelations be and how consequential could such moves be?

Over the weekend, former Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen tweeted what could be interpreted as ominous to the fight against corruption in Kenya, especially if supported by the ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

He tweeted,

If Govt wants to save Waiguru regardless of the facts, then she will he saved. If govt & Capitol Hill dry cleaners combine forces then Senate will do NOTHING. A few of us will make some noise, quote the Constitution & our DC will rule us out of order & declare her Mweupe kama pamba.

Kirinyaga Woman Representative, Hon Wangui Ngirici also shared closely the same sentiments that alluded to Raila’s Capitol Hill office being the new ‘sanitizer’ for corrupt individuals, at a cost of course.

Further backing up these suspicions is the announcement by Raila Odinga’s trusted ally and Minority Whip in the National Assrmbly Hon Junet Mohamed that ODM will defend Waiguru, not based on any facts that absolve her from the allegations against her, but because she is a woman and she met Raila.

Did Junet also get a share of the Ksh 50 Million?
