Good news for Nairobi City dwellers as the Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director, General Mohammed Badi promises to offer free water to Nairobians during the outbreak of Covid-19 period in the country.
Addressing the City County legislators at his Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) office, Badi urged county representatives to set aside political nterests and differences for the good of Kenyans.
The appointed leader to take over Nairobi County stated that the dispensation for free water in the county for residents is underway and would be communicated to all leaders adding it would require respective leaders cooperation as he pledged to serve members of the public.
“I would like you to inform your various ward representatives, so they are aware. Let us leave politics out of this, we are in a crisis and we must give Nairobians what they deserve,” reads Badi’s plea.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus in Kenya, the government has enforced several measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus with the recent one being 7 Pm to 5 Am curfew declared by President Uhuru Kenyatta during Wednesday 25 March public address on covid-19.
The government recent curfew directive has seen members of the public urge national and county governments to ease living conditions since the outbreak of the virus has affected several sources of income.
Badi’s directive to see Nairobians get free water is in line with President Kenyatta’s call to exhibit patriotism and allow members of the public to afford basic services during this tough period.
